Priest Arrested in Hudson Valley for Possessing Meth, Police Say

A New York Priest was arrested in the Hudson Valley for allegedly possessing meth with the intent to sell.

Early Sunday morning, Westchester County police arrested two men after they were allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine in Peekskill.

Officers were traveling on John Walsh Boulevard shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the vicinity of Charles Point Park.

Two men were found inside the vehicle and after further investigation officers recovered half an ounce of methamphetamine, two scales and other materials used for packaging narcotics, police say.

Michael O’Leary, 50, of the Bronx and 27-year-old and Alberto Calderon of Brooklyn, were both charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia, felonies.

O’Leary was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, also a felony. The New York Archdiocese confirmed the 50-year-old is a priest but is not currently assigned to a parish.
