A school employee who’s accused of sexually abusing a child is also accused of trying to rape a Hudson Valley teen.

According to New York State Police in Sullivan County, 51-year-old Abraham Silverberg of Brooklyn, an employee at P.S. 116 in Manhattan, attempted to lure a teenager to a hotel room in Sullivan County to engage in sexual conduct.

An investigation by the Child Abuse Unit revealed that Silverberg engaged in sexual conduct with a child younger than 13 in Brooklyn, police say. State Police from Sullivan County contacted State Police in Brooklyn as a result of their investigation.

Silverberg was charged with luring a child, attempted rape, felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. More charges are expected from State Police in Brooklyn.

Silverberg was remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail.
