Police: 2 Teens Made Terroristic Threats at Hudson Valley High School

Two teens are facing felony charges for making threats of violence towards their Hudson Valley high school.

On Wednesday around 11:30 p.m., Port Jervis City Police Department received numerous reports from the public and other emergency service agencies reporting a threatening post on the social media site Snapchat that indicated a threat a violence at Port Jervis High School.

"The post was an immediate concern based on the threatening nature of the contents," the Port Jervis School District wrote on its website.

Officers and detectives allege that two 15-year-olds from the Port Jervis/Deerpark were responsible for the threatening posts.

Both were charged with making terroristic threats, a felony, and falsely reporting an incident, a misdemeanor.

Following a police investigation, it was determined that there was no credible threat to any of the schools in the Port Jervis School District, officials say.

Investigators believe the threats of violence were intended to scare and cause panic, police say.
