Hudson Valley Police Officers Rescue Injured Baby Owl
A pair of police officers from the Hudson Valley are credited with saving the life of baby owl who was hit by a car.
Sunday evening, while on patrol, Kingston police officer Arciello noticed what appeared to be an injured owl very close to the side of the roadway.
Upon closer inspection, it appeared the owl was struck by a passing car, police say. With the help of Officer Palmer and instructions from a wildlife rehabilitation center, the owl was taken out of harm's way.
On Monday morning, the injured owl was turned over to a vet who said the baby bird was strong and was very optimistic about its recovery, according to the Kingston Police Department.
Late Monday, the Kingston Police Department provided an update on the bird's condition.
"Baby owl update! Officer Seyfarth safely and lovingly delivered the owl to Marbletown Animal Hospital. He will then be turned over to wildlife rehab and eventually released where he was found," the Kingston Police Department wrote on Facebook
