Hudson Valley Hospital Placed on Locked After Reports of Gunman
A Hudson Valley hospital was placed on lockdown after two patients reporting seeing a man armed with a shotgun.
On Sunday around 8:30 p.m., two patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville reported seeing a man armed with a gun inside the hospital.
The hospital was placed on lockdown as police from multiple departments and SWAT vehicles along with the FBI rushed to the hospital, surrounded it and searched each room.
After searching for hours and looking at security camera footage police announced it was a false alarm.
"There are no victims and at this point, we don't believe there was a suspect in the hospital who was armed," said Bronxville Police Chief Christopher Satriale said according to WPIX.
According to detectives, there wasn't ever anyone inside the hospital armed with a shotgun. However, police call the patients who reported the gunmen "credible witnesses" who authorities believe were acting in good faith.
