Hudson Valley Company Being Investigated After Donations to Cuomo

A Hudson Valley company is under investigation for receiving millions in state grants after giving large campaign contributions to Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

According to the New York Post, Crystal Run Healthcare received a $25.4 million grant to build two new facilities in March 2016, months after ground was already broken on the project.

The grant came after executives, family members, spouses, and employees donated over $400,000 to Cuomo in Oct. 2013, reports the Times Union. Many of the donations came in 10 separate installments of $25,000.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York Court launched an investigated and issued subpoenas requesting testimony from several Crystal Run Healthcare employees, according to the Times Union.

The probe came months after six doctors filed a lawsuit accusing the healthcare company of making donations using company money without consulting the doctors, the New York Post reports.
