You Can Now Order Food From Facebook in Hudson Valley
Hudson Valley residents can now order food for pickup or delivery directly from Facebook.
In attempts to make our lives even easier, Facebook announced that users can now order food for takeout or delivery using both the Facebook mobile app and website.
Facebook users can search for and now order food from restaurants near them that take orders from services like Delivery.com, DoorDash, ChowNow, Zuppler, EatStreet, Slice and Olo.
You can also order directly from a number of national chains, including Papa John’s, Panera Bread, TGI Friday’s, Denny’s, Chipotle and Five Guys.
“People already go to Facebook to figure out what to eat by reading about nearby restaurants, and seeing what their friends say about them,” Facebook VP of Local Alex Himel said in a press release. “So, we’re making it even easier. We’ve been testing this since last year, and after responding to feedback and adding more partners, we’re rolling out everywhere in the US.”
Hudson Valley Post tested the new feature in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh and found a number of places that will directly take your order from Facebook and some that will deliver to your home or job.
“From local spots to national chains, Facebook connects you with old favorites and new discoveries in just a few taps. You can even check out what your friends have to say about a restaurant before you order your food,” Himel said.
You can search for restaurants nearby by visiting the “Order Food” section in the “Explore” menu on Facebook. Then you can browse food options and select “Start Order” when you found the place you want to order from.
