Police Investigate Reports of Child Abduction Attempt on Route 9
Police investigated reports of a child abduction attempt in the Hudson Valley.
Recently, the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department was told about a suspicious car being driven by an unknown man who approached two children and an adult and asked the group if they need a ride as the children walked to their school bus stop around 8:30 a.m. on Route 9 in the Village of Wappinger Falls.
A police investigation was conducted and concluded that the suspicious vehicle was actually a car service which was in the area trying to find a customer who requested a pickup, police say.
According to the Village of Wappingers Falls Police Department, there is no indication of malicious intent by the driver of the car service.
