Months-Long Investigation into Heroin Sales Leads to 5 Arrests
Five were arrested after police say they found heroin, cocaine and an illegal gun inside a Hudson Valley home.
On Thursday, members of the City of Newburgh Police Department, Town of Newburgh Detectives and Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force executed a search warrant in the basement at an apartment on Liberty Street.
The execution of the search warrant was the culmination of a months-long investigation into the alleged sale of narcotics at the apartment.
Investigators recovered three loaded handguns, one of which was reported stolen, 2,118 decks of heroin with a weight of 52.95 grams, 97.3 gram and over $10,000 in cash, police say.
Arrested were:
- Abimael Bruno, 37: seven counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
- Samir Lantigua, 25: four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
- Alex Santos-Martinez, 29: four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
- Christine Guzman, 26: four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
- Micaela Sanabria, 34: criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a weapon.
