A Hudson Valley teacher was accused of watching porn in the classroom.

In a letter posted on the Highland Central School District Superintendent of Schools Thomas Bongiovi confirmed on the district's website someone from the middle school resigned following an investigation.

"Last week we dealt with a personnel issue at the Middle School. Although I am not legally permitted to comment on any particular personnel matter, I understand that parents may have concerns about the incident, which is why I am sending this letter," Bongiovi said. "After receiving a complaint regarding an employee last week, the District did a prompt and thorough investigation, and the employee ultimately resigned from the District. The New York State Department of Education was also notified."

Reports on social media say a Highland music teacher resigned over allegations he was caught watching porn in the classroom.

A Town of Lloyd Police Department spokesperson confirmed to Hudson Valley Post they conducted an investigation following reports of a Highland Middle School teacher who was caught watching porn in his classroom.

No charges were filed following an investigation by the Town of Lloyd Police Department and the Ulster County District Attorney's Office, police say.

"What's immoral is not illegal," the Town of Lloyd Police Department spokesperson told Hudson Valley Post.

"We want to stress that there have been no prior reports or suspicions of any inappropriate behavior from this individual. Neither has there been any allegations made, in this situation or in the past, that involved any improper interactions or behaviors with students," Bongiovi.

Officials wouldn't confirm if the teacher who investigated is the same teacher who resigned.
