
Hudson Valley Teacher Charged With Owning Child Porn

A teacher from the Hudson Valley is accused of owning child porn.
In an online message to the community, the Poughkeepsie City School District announced a teacher was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography. The school district didn't release the teacher's name or where the teacher teaches.
The teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. Base on information, school officials don't believe there is a connection to any Poughkeepsie students.
Wednesday afternoon New York State Police announced Brian Kinsley, 34 of the town of Shawangunk was charged with possessing a sexual performance by a child, a felony. Police confirmed Kinsley is a teacher in the City of Poughkeepsie School District.

To all Members of our Poughkeepsie Community:
The safety of our students and staff is of paramount importance. The District was informed this afternoon that a teacher has been arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.
Based on the information we have at this time, we do not have any reason to believe that there is a connection to Poughkeepsie students. The teacher has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the criminal investigation. We will cooperate fully with the New York State Police in support of their investigation.
We thank you for your understanding as we take rapid action to ensure the safety of our students and schools.
