Hudson Valley Man Comments on Own Wanted Photo
A Hudson Valley man wanted for allegedly stealing ATVs commented on his own wanted Facebook photo!
On Facebook, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office posted a wanted photo for Alexander E. Smith. Smith is accused of stealing ATVs.
Smith is wanted on an arrest warrant by the Town of Delaware Court for criminal possession of stolen property. He’s also wanted in the Town of Thompson on charges for petit larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.
Smith is described as being a 5’8,” 150 pounds with hazel eyes and blonde hair. The wanted photo lists his age as 23.
However, inside the comment’s section the sheriff’s office wrote that the age is a typo and Smith is really 25. That’s when Smith commented on his own wanted post.
“Must be another typo cause technically I won't be 26 till the end of the month, how can anyone trust your paperwork if you can't even get my age right,” Alex Smith questioned in the Facebook post.
Smith then wondered why police didn’t contact him directly, instead of posting his mug shot on Facebook.
“I just don't understand why you guys can't contact me before doing all this.” Smith wrote.
Inside the comment section of the wanted photo Smith also mentioned why he can’t turn himself in.
“Meet? Im across the country I'll call em when I'm off work,” he said.
A search of Smith’s personal Facebook page found that he started a job in Wellington, F.L., in early November.
If anyone has information on Smith you are urged to call the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office at 845-794-7100 or their confidential tip line at 845-807-1058.
