Here’s how you can help out a Hudson Valley teen firefighter who lost his feet and hand due to complications from the flu.

The first fundraiser to help 19-year-old Willy McCue of New City is planned for Sunday at Lynch’s Restaurant on South Liberty Drive in Stony Point.

The restaurant is hosting a buffet dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. Dinner costs $25.

McCue was hospitalized due to complications from the flu this winter. As he got sicker the flu brought on pneumonia, which caused issues with sepsis throughout his body.

As his condition worsened, doctors were forced to take action to save Will’s life, according to the New City Fire Department.

The Clarkstown North High School graduate is also suffering from severe tissue damage to one leg and organ issues, according to the New City Fire Department.

"When Willy is released from the hospital he will require ongoing medical care and will need our help to ensure that his family can provide him with this care," New City Fire Engine Co. No. 1 wrote in a Facebook post promoting the buffet benefit. "Every cent will go towards Willy’s journey to recovery."

A GoFundMe page was set up to help McCue’s family with the extensive medical costs.
