UPS Truck Crushed By Fallen Tree in Hudson Valley
A UPS truck was smashed while driving in the Hudson Valley during Tuesday's violent storm.
According to Adam Merritt of Poughkeepsie, his UPS co-worker, Mike Repanti, was driving a UPS delivery truck during Tuesday's violent storm when a large tree came crashing down on top of the truck.
Photos, seen above and below, shows the UPS truck completely crushed due to the force of the fallen tree. It appears the tree fell onto the passenger side of the truck, which may have saved Repanti's life.
"He’s one of the luckiest people I know to have survived this but he’s not out of the woods yet," Merritt, an FDR high school graduate, wrote on Facebook. "Please send out a prayer for a healthy recovery for him because he’s gonna need it. We love you Mike and hope you get better bro!"
Repanti is 31-years-old. He's from Poughquag and now lives in Poughkeepsie, according to Repanti's Facebook. He'll turn 32 at the end of the month.
Weather officials confirmed four Hudson Valley counties were impacted by tornadoes on Tuesday, one that traveled across the Hudson River. Other areas saw macrobursts.
