A sex offender who's considered "Sexually Violent" moved within walking distance of a Hudson Valley nursery, apartment complex and churches.

The Kingston Police Department warned residents a Level-2 Sex offender moved into the Kingston area. Ashonta Z. Parker moved to West Pierpont Street in Kingston. It's unclear where Parker previously lived, but he was arrested in 2007 by the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.

In April 2007, he was accused of kidnapping a stranger and having sexual intercourse, deviate sexual intercourse and sexual contact with the woman, according to the New York State Sex Offenders database. In April 2008, he was convicted of sexual abuse and sentenced to three years in prison.

Parker is labeled a "Sexually Violent Offender" on the New York State Sex Offenders database. His new home is within walking distance of the Hillside Nursery, Chestnut Mansion Apartments, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran and Redeemer Lutheran Church, according to Google Maps.
