Police Seek Answers After Man Shot Near Poughkeepsie Businesses

A man is fighting for his life after he was shot in broad daylight near a number of Poughkeepsie businesses.

The City of Poughkeepsie police is investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of 644 Main Street on Sunday around 6:30 p.m.

A 27-year-old man was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in a private vehicle with serious injuries and underwent surgery, police say.

The unnamed man is in critical but stable condition and is currently in ICU, according to City of Poughkeepsie Police.

According to Google maps, the shooting took place near TD Bank, Poughkeepsie Wines & Liquor, Big Tomato, Casa Latina Supermarket, Family Dollar, Rent-A-Center, Pete's Famous, Auto Obessionz, TJ's Pizza and El Bracero.
