Man Driving On I-87 Found With 8 Loaded Guns, Drugs

A man driving on I-87 in the Hudson Valley is accused of being in possession of eight loaded guns, heroin, meth, cocaine and more.

On Saturday around 12:15 p.m., State Police from Middletown stopped a car driven by 31-year-old Ken Suwabe for allegedly not wearing a seatbelt and other traffic infractions on I-87 North.

Troopers observed small plastic bags of crystal methamphetamine in plain view as they approached Suwabe’s vehicle, police say.

As Suwabe exited his vehicle, troopers alleged noticed Suwabe had a loaded .45 caliber pistol holstered on his belt.

During a search of the vehicle, six additional loaded handguns, a loaded AR-15 assault rifle, a pistol silencer, high-capacity ammunition magazines, small quantities of pills, cocaine and heroin were located, officials say.

Suwabe was charged with seventeen-counts of criminal possession of a weapon, nine-counts of criminal possession of a weapon and six-counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Suwabe was committed to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $100,000.00 cash bail.
