
Hudson Valley Couple Stole Over $9,000 Worth of Jewelry, Police Say
A long investigation led to two arrests for allegedly stealing over $9,000 worth of jewelry.
On Thursday, New York State Police from Wappinger barracks arrested 29-year-old Rocco R. Cardascia of Poughkeepsie and 27-year-old Casey C. Owen of Mamaroneck for burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny, all felonies.
An investigation revealed that Cardascia and Owen were responsible for the burglary of a jewelry store in Wappinger, where over $9,000 worth of jewelry was stolen in October of 2016, police say.
Cardascia and Owen were arraigned at the Town of Wappinger Court. Cardascia was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond. Owen was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.
