
Ulster County Man Allegedly Broke Into Home, Punched Mother Of Child
An Ulster County man is accused of breaking into a home and punching the mother of his child in the face.
On Thursday, Ellenville police responded to an apartment on Canal Street. Police were told that a man violated an order of protection and entered the home without consent.
After entering the home, 24-year-old Rasheed Shiek Hassan of Ellenville is a accused of punching a woman in the face, taking her cellphone and repeatedly threatened her in the presence of the their two-year-child. Hassan fled the scene before police arrived on the scene.
After a warrant was issued for his arrest, Hassan turned himself in. He was charged with burglary, criminal contempt, aggravated family offense, unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
He was remanded to Ulster County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
