Poughkeepsie Man Arrested in Connection of 2017 Bank Robbery
After a nearly year-long investigation, a Poughkeepsie man is accused of robbing a Dutchess County bank.
On August 7, 2017, an unidentified man entered the Bank of Millbrook on Hunns Lake Road in the Town of Stanford, displayed what appeared to be a handgun and stole an undisclosed amount of money, police say.
The suspect fled the bank on foot and is believed to have entered a light-colored crossover or SUV type vehicle.
A nine-month investigation by the New York State Police Troop K Bureau of Investigation eventually led to the identification of a suspect and later to his arrest, police say.
A tip police received months after the robbery led police to develop 36-year-old Terry Thompson of Poughkeepsie as a possible suspect. He was arrested on Tuesday for robbery, a felony.
Thompson was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
