Police: Drunk Ulster County Man Drove to Domino’s With Infant in Car
Police say a highly intoxicated Ulster County man drove to Domino’s with an infant in his car and fought with employees.
On Saturday around 1:15 a.m., Saugerties police were called to investigate reports of a man trying to fight employees at Domino’s Pizza on Route 9W.
Police were told that 29-year-old Salem E. Weldborn Jr. of Kingston tried to fight employees at the Domino’s store. When trying to take Weldborn into custody, Weldborn allegedly fled on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, Weldborn was arrested. Police later found an infant in the back seat of the car that he drove to Domino’s, officials say. The 29-year-old was also highly intoxicated, police say.
Weldborn was charged aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony under Leandra’s Law, driving while intoxicated, obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned in the Town of Saugerties Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail.
