If you are like me you enjoy heading out with friends for an evening of dinner and cocktails but that may be showing my age. Recent studies are showing that the younger generations are enjoying the Mocktail more than the cocktails.

I fall at the end of the baby boomers, a generation that enjoys a good cocktail according to an article by Greenbook.org. In an article from earlier this year, Greenbook broke down the demographics of mocktails in an article titled The Rise of Mocktails and Its Impact on Alcohol Consumption Trends.

Why Are Mocktails Growing in Popularity

The main reason Greenbook gives for this trend is that younger generations are looking for healthier alternatives when out for a night with friends. This can also be tied back to younger people being taught more about drink safety in my opinion. These generations grew up with the stop drinking and driving ads.

CNN.com says that it also has to do with younger people just simply not liking being drunk. It is popular to be someone who chooses to not drink alcohol. Of course that doesn't mean you want a simple side either. The idea behind a good cocktail is that it has flavor and character, so cue the Mocktail.
