A Hudson Valley middle school was forced to evacuate after a written threat was found in a bathroom.

On Wednesday around 1:30 p.m., Monroe-Woodbury Middle School administrators were made aware of a written threat made to the school on a bathroom stall.

Students and staff were immediately evacuated while law enforcement and fire officials conducted an inspection of the building. The threat was deemed non-credible by law enforcement, school officials say.

At approximately 1:36 p.m., the school was deemed safe and students and staff returned to the building, according to school officials.

"The safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority," the Monroe-Woodbury Middle School wrote on its website.
