Hudson Valley Man Charged With Sex Crimes Against Child, Beating Girlfriend
A Hudson Valley man is behind bars without bail for allegedly sexually assaulting a 5-year-old and beating his girlfriend.
On Thursday, Town of Montgomery police began an investigation into reports of a predatory sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl.
As a result of the investigation, 27-year-old Gilberto Loza Jr. of Montgomery was charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, course of sexual conduct against a child, criminal sex act, all felonies, as well as sexual abuse and forcible touching, both misdemeanors.
Loza knew the victim, police say.
While looking into Loza’s past, police allege they learned about past violent domestic incidents involving Loza’s girlfriend.
As a result, Loza was also charged with strangulation, a felony, and unlawful imprisonment, assault and aggravated harassment, misdemeanors.
Loza was remanded to Orange County Jail without bail.
