Hudson Valley Father Arrested After Toddlers Found Wandering at School
A local father was arrested after his two toddlers were found by themselves at a Hudson Valley school. According to police, one was naked and one was found with a head injury.
On Thursday around 8:20 a.m., New York State Police and the Village of Florida Police responded to the S. S. Seward Institute on North Main Street in the Village of Florida for a report of two abandoned toddlers.
School officials found a 1-year-old boy and 2-year-old boy walking around without an adult on school grounds. One child was naked, the other was in diapers with a minor head injury, police say. The children were taken to Saint Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick for evaluation.
Responding officers found the father, 47-year-old Patrick Tibby of Florida, allegedly sleeping inside his home.
Child Protective Service responded and removed the children from Tibby’s custody. Tibby was arrested and charged with two-counts of endangering the welfare of a child and obstructing governmental administration.
