A Hudson Valley fire department lost nearly everything following a fire at their firehouse. Here's how you can help.

On Friday around 10:30 p.m., members of the Tivoli Fire Department were dispatched to a fire at their own firehouse. After the blaze was put out, nearly everything was discovered destroyed or heavily damaged.

Thanks to what's described as "the heroic action" of the first arriving firefighters, one engine, a pumper, a UTV and their boat were saved. The saved engine allowed firefighters to put out the blaze, but, everything could not be saved.

The fire department lost their ambulance, one engine/tanker and hundreds of thousands of dollars in life-saving equipment and supplies, officials say.

Due to the heavy heat from the fire, officials believe Tivoli Fire Department's firehouse will not be salvageable.

"The Tivoli Fire Company Inc NY suffered a devastating fire heavily damaging their station, apparatus, equipment and everything they know as a 100% volunteer dept," a GoFundMe states.

The GoFundMe was started to help the fire department "start over." As of this writing, over $3,400 has been raised in one day.

"While we are heartbroken about this tragedy we will continue serve the citizens of this community and start the process of replacement and rebuilding," Tivoli Fire Department wrote on Facebook. "We want to thank everyone for their tremendous support at this difficult time."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials believe it was caused by an electrical issue with one of their trucks.

"Thankful no one was hurt but the Tivoli Fire Department suffered a major loss. We were on scene for a multiple alarm fire at the firehouse. The County Fire Investigation Team is on site to determine cause and origin. We are truly fortunate to have amazing volunteers who all came to assist," Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro said..
