Hudson Valley Could See Up to 12 More Inches of Snow
As the Hudson Valley continues to recover from Friday’s Nor’easter, another big storm is potentially on the way this week.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch from Tuesday night through Wednesday night for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam, Greene and Columbia counties from Wednesday morning until Thursday morning.
Heavy snow is possible with total snow totals of 5 to 10 inches, with some areas seeing up to a foot of snow, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm is expected to start late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and last until late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.
Plan on difficult travel conditions and significant reductions in visibility on Wednesday, especially during the Wednesday evening commute, officials say.
A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
Hudson Valley Weather has yet to release a full weather forecast, but as of this writing, they say there is a 60% chance of the Hudson Valley receiving up to 8 inches of snow.
