Cops: 63-Year-Old Made Terroristic Threat at Hudson Valley School

A lockdown was placed at a Hudson Valley school after a 63-year-old woman allegedly made a terroristic threat.

On Tuesday around 10:10 a.m., the Town of Montgomery Police Department conducted an investigation in regards to an alleged terroristic threat made towards the Valley Central School District.

The threat was allegedly made in anger of an upcoming school bond vote issue. The threat caused the voting process to be disrupted and the school placed on lockdown.

The Town of Montgomery Police Department responded to the lockdown and by 11:20 a.m. identified and found the alleged suspect. 63-year-old Alice K. Lubitz of Walden was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony.

Shortly after Lubitz was arrested, the school lockdown was canceled and there was no further apparent threat to the school district, police say. The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be added.
