Brooklyn Woman Stole Local Resident’s Identity

A Brooklyn woman is accused of opening up several credit cards in the name of a local victim and using the cards throughout the Hudson Valley.

New York State Police, along with the Town of Ulster Police Department, announce the arrest of Nataliya Karlova of Brooklyn for multiple counts of identity theft, grand larceny and forgery, all felonies.

An investigation revealed that Karlova stole the identity of a victim, opened several credit cards in the victim’s name and used the fraudulently obtained credit cards to make purchases in the Town of Ulster, Town of Newburgh, and Town of Wallkil, police say.

Karlova was arraigned in the Town of Wallkill Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $10,000 cash or $25,000, bond bail. Karlova scheduled to reappear in the Town of Wallkill Court on March 14.
