50-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Accused of Owning Child Porn
A Hudson Valley man was arrested on 16 felony counts for allegedly owning and promoting child porn.
On Thursday, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office reported the arrest of 50-year-old Alex Amoroso of Putnam Valley on charges of possessing and promoting obscene sexual performance by a child.
The arrest came after an investigation by members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation into the online sharing of images and videos of child sexual abuse material, police say.
On April 19, 2018, members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s office, armed with a search warrant, conducted a search of Amoroso’s home and seized multiple electronic devices.
The investigators continued the investigation and last week Amoroso was arrested on an arrest warrant when he exited his home.
Amoroso was charged with eight counts possessing obscene sexual performance by a child and eight counts of promoting obscene sexual performance by a child, all felonies.
He was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility without bail.
