Shooting In Newburgh Leads To Man’s Arrest
Following reports of shots fired, a Bronx man was arrested for weapons and drugs possession.
On Tuesday just before 12:30 a.m., City of Newburgh Police responded to the area of South Street and Chambers Street for a report of shots fired.
Arriving officers spotted a car traveling north on Chambers Street. The vehicle briefly stopped and the front-seat passenger ran into a home on Chambers Street, police say.
Officers followed the front-seat passenger inside the home. Rohan Brown, 48, of the Bronx, was soon found inside the home in possession of allegedly a .45 caliber handgun, and 29 grams of marijuana.
Brown was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, and a misdemeanor for criminal possession of marijuana.
Brown was held pending arraignment in City Court.
