Police: Missing Hudson Valley Woman Was Wanted by Police

Turns out a Hudson Valley woman who was reported missing was wanted by authorities. After she was found, she's accused of kicking an officer.

On Tuesday, Saugerties police arrested 56-year-old Nancy Busch-Scardino of Rhinebeck after investigating a report of a suspicious person in the area of the Diamond Mills on South Partition Street in the Village of Saugerties.

During a file check of the 56-year-old, authorities learned the Rhinebeck woman was reported missing and had an active warrant for her arrest issued by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, for being a parole absconder, police say.

Officers took Busch-Scardino into custody and transported her back to Saugerties Police Headquarters for processing. While being booked, Busch-Scardino allegedly became aggressive towards officers and kicked a female officer in the groin.

Busch-Scardino was subsequently charged with attempted assault and obstructing governmental administration.

Busch-Scardino was arraigned in the Village of Saugerties Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.
