Police: Hudson Valley Woman Steals From Dollar General, Runs Over Cashier’s Foot
A local woman is accused of stealing from a Dollar General and then running over a cashier’s foot with her car.
On Friday, police from Ellenville responded to a call of person trying to flee after stealing from the Dollar General.
An investigation revealed that 39-year-old Nancy Ducker of Kerhonkson placed several items from the Dollar General into a bag and attempted to flee, police say.
A cashier who said she noticed that Ducker entered with an empty bag and leave with a full bag, tried to stop Ducker.
Ducker argued with the cashier inside and outside of the store, police say. After a struggle with the cashier, Ducker placed the alleged stolen items on the sidewalk and got into her car.
As she was trying to leave in her car, Ducker is accused of running over the foot of the cashier. The cashier was treated and released from a local hospital.
Police arrived on the scene and placed Ducker into custody. While searching her, Ducker is accused of having crushed oxycodone in a dollar bill in her wallet.
Ducker was charged with reckless endangerment, petit larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and violation of probation.
She was remanded to Ulster County Jail pending further court action.
