Police: Hudson Valley Heroin Drug Dealer Arrested

A Hudson Valley man was arrested just hours before he was allegedly going to sell heroin.

On Wednesday around 5 p.m., a deputy from the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office stopped a 2008 Chevrolet Pickup Truck Route 17 in the Town of Thompson for an alleged vehicle and traffic violation.

During the traffic stop, a computer check of the driver indicated that his license was suspended and that both the driver and his passenger were in possession of drugs, police say.

Authorities allege that the passenger, 60-year-old Glynn Spencer of Kiamesha Lake was in possession of approximately 239 bags of heroin, weighing roughly 44.41 grams, and crack cocaine, weighing about 8.79 grams.

“Within hours, this heroin would have been on the streets of Sullivan County,” Sullivan County Sheriff Mike Schiff said in a press release.

Spencer was charged with two-counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, all felonies.

He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail without bail

The driver, a 32-year-old from Liberty was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle, all misdemeanors.
