A long time Hudson Valley radio personality, whose voice was heard on a number of local stations, passed away.
On Saturday, 66-year-old Paul R. Tesoro died following a long battle with an undisclosed illness.
In 1981, Tesoro was hired by Central Hudson as its Director of Advertising. In 2004, he was promoted to Director of Corporate Communications.
For almost 30 years, he was the voice and creative inspiration behind Central Hudson’s Almanac, a radio program that was heard across a number of stations in the Hudson Valley.
Many enjoyed Tesoro’s insights on weather, local history and more.
Tesoro began hosting Central Hudson’s Almanac on April 6, 1987. His last broadcast, prior to retiring, was April 15, 2016.
In his final days, with the solar eclipse on the horizon, Tesoro often spoke about the Almanac show he would have produced for the solar eclipse.
“Even at the end, his desire to educate and entertain remained,” his obituary reads.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the William G. Miller and Son Funeral Home on Hookever Avenue in Poughkeepsie.
Our thoughts are with the Tesoro’s family and friends.
