Car Launches From Road Takes Out Telephone Pole in Kingston
A Sunday night accident in Kingston, New York left one car flipped over and a telephone pole dangling above the street.
As the weekend entered its final hours members of the Kingston Fire Department were called to respond to a reported vehicle rollover with possible victims trapped inside.
Kingston, NY Car Accident Severs Telephone Pole
According to the Kingston Fire Department (KFD), a call came in on Sunday, October 20th at approximately 8:45 p.m. reporting an accident on Abeel Street in Kingston.
KFD was dispatched to the scene and as they were responding they were given an update that there were possibly wires down on the vehicle and it was unclear if the occupants were trapped inside the vehicle or not.
In minutes first responders arrived on the scene to find a white passenger vehicle on its roof in the middle of the street along with a broken telephone pole and some wires down. As you can see in the picture below the broken telephone pole was snapped and came to rest on top of other wires hanging above the street.
First responders were able to determine that the broken pole was a communications pole and did not have any electric wires on it according to the KFD Facebook page.
Driver Evaluated
Thankfully the sole occupant of the had gotten out of the car before KFD arrived on the scene and was later evaluated by Kingston Fire EMTs and Paramedic. The unidentified driver was offered ambulance transport to a nearby hospital for further treatment but declined.

The Kingston Police Department was also on the scene but didn't specify if the driver was issued any tickets. KFD remained on the scene for approximately an hour until the vehicle was removed from the street while City of Kingston Police remained on the scene until Abeel Street could be reopened.
