They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and a recent post from a Hudson Valley police department has once again proved just how true the phrase actually is.

The Ossining Police Department is no stranger to viral fame, especially when it comes to their posts about lost animals. Their first post to catch fire on social media was focused on a rescued dog they had affectionately nicknamed "Bitey McBiterton" (below).

Viral Hudson Valley Police Department Does It Again

The post, which was shared over 4,000 times and was even covered by People Magazine, was a hilarious break from the more serious content usually shared by law enforcement. "Our Officers are unsure if Bitey is male or female, and aren’t keen on checking", they quipped. The recent post, however, has captured the world's attention for a different reason.

Ossining Police Department Has Another Viral Animal Control Moment

While posts about lost animals are supposed to focus on the animals themselves, the Ossining Police Department once again knew they had the opportunity to stir the pot with their latest update. "If you recognize that cute little face (again, the dog), tell his owners “come get your dog”… at the SPCA", they joked. The comment section was predictably active.

The Hudson Valley (and World) Is Thirsty for OPD Officer

While the lost dog is undeniably adorable, the majority of comments were focused on the other subject in the photo, Animal Control Officer Valdovinos. Described as being new to the force, hundreds of keyboard warriors could not contain their excitement at the OPD's latest addition.

"Y’all have got to start adding relationship statuses when you post these thirst traps…", posted one eager resident. "Has the officer found his forever home yet?", joked another. In fact, the OPD's posts have become so popular that they have gained international fame.

"I live in Yorkshire, I haven't left the UK in over 20 years and I have absolutely no clue where Ossining is, But I'm completely invested in your lost dogs and handsome law enforcement.....if anyone has a spare room I could be on my way in under 24 hours", posted a thirsty Brit.

As we're sure Officer Valdovinos would agree, any exposure is positive exposure if it means that a lost dog is reunited with their owner more quickly. That being said, there's no denying the extra attention he'll have to contend with if these posts continue. "I seen him in person this morning & he looks even better", confirmed an Ossining resident.
