In the wake of a historic storm, Hudson Valley residents aren't in the clear as more snow is expected Friday.

According to Hudson Valley Weather, the next burst of heavy snow will occur from west to east across the Hudson Valley between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m.

The National Weather Service extended their Winter Storm Warnings in the Hudson Valley.

In Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia and Greene counties the warning lasts until 1 p.m. In Orange County, the Winter Storm Warning has been extended to 10 a.m.

Another 1 to 4 inches of snow is predicted. The snow burst should taper off between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. from west to east. At that point, temps will climb allowing conditions to gradually improve.

Weather experts are calling Thursday's storm "historic." Originally about 3 to 5 inches of snow was predicted for the region. Just before the snow hit, 4 to 8 inches, or more, was in the forecast.

But, snowfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour, for many hours allowed the storm to surpass the 4 to 8-inch forecast in just a few hours.

The season's first snowstorm, which hit right around Thursday evening's rush hour proved to be hazardous for all drivers and made getting around a nightmare.
