Millbrook First Responders Save Dog Trapped in Drainage Pipe

Hudson Valley firefighters and others spent nearly 6 hours saving a family's dog that was trapped in a drainage pipe.

On Saturday around 8:30 a.m., the Millbrook Fire Department was called to assist in the rescue of a dog that was stuck in a drainage pipe at a Town of Washington residence.

For nearly six hours, members of the Millbrook Fire Department, Superior Sanitation based in Pine Plains and Race Septic worked to find where the dog was in the pipe and the best way to get him out.

Marco Boscardin and Sons, a Dutchess County company, provided equipment which allowed first responders to create an exit for the trapped dog, a Basset named Winslow.

Winslow was very happy to see sunlight and roll in the grass, firefighters say.
