2 Students Injured When Car Crashes Into School Bus Head-On
3 people were injured, including two students, when a car collided head-on into a school bus in Ulster County.
On Monday around 2:45 p.m., members of the Saugerties Police Department responded for a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle accident on West Saugerties Road at Brady Road.
Following an investigation, it was determined that a vehicle operated by 49-year-old Noel P. DeFino of Saugerties was traveling eastbound on West Saugerties Road at an unsafe speed, police say.
She hit a patch of snow in the roadway, lost control of her vehicle and collided head on with a First Student school bus that was traveling in the opposition direction.
DeFino and two unnamed students were transported by Diaz Ambulance to the Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Campus Hospital with minor injuries.
Defino is going to be charged with speed not reasonable and prudent and failure to keep right.
The investigation into the crash is continuing, police say.
Saugerties Police were assisted by the New York State Police, Diaz Ambulance and the Centerville Fire Department.
