The Hudson Valley is helping out the family of the Poughkeepsie teen who was killed after an Arlington football game.

Quraan Smith, 16, a junior at Arlington High School, was fatally stabbed following an Arlington football game Friday night.
On Friday around 9 p.m., the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office responded to a stabbing that took place immediately after a football game at Arlington High School in LaGrange.
Deputies responded along with the New York State Police, Town of Poughkeepsie Police, City of Poughkeepsie Police, Town of East Fishkill Police, and Village of Wappingers Falls Police to assist Deputies who were dealing with a large fight and stabbing that occurred just after the game.
Smith, 16-year-old Arlington student, was stabbed. He was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital where they were later pronounced dead.
"On Friday night, a mother rearranged her schedule to make her son happy, by taking him to his school's football game. That night a mother came home without her child, left with heartbreak like no other," Natasha Write wrote in a GoFundme setup for Smith's family. "No mother deserves this pain!"

Nestor A. Ortiz-Ocampo, 18, of the City of Poughkeepsie was interviewed by police and taken into custody in connection with a stabbing. He was charged with manslaughter, a felony.
Ortiz-Ocampo is a former student at Arlington High. It's still not clear what sparked the fight.
The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public's assistance. Anyone who witnessed has information or possesses video or photographs surrounding the fatal stabbing is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 845-486-3820. All information will be kept confidential, police say.
