
Upper Hudson Valley Baby Drowns
Police are investigating after a one-year-old drowned in the Upper Hudson Valley.
On Friday around 5:30 p.m., Columbia County 911 dispatched Niverville Fire Department, Valatie Rescue Squad and New York State Police from Kinderhook to a home in the hamlet of Niverville, Town of Kinderook, for a report of a 1-year-old girl found unresponsive in a swimming pool.
The child was transported to Albany Medical Center. On Sunday, the girl died from her injuries. Her name wasn’t released.
New York State Police Bureua of Criminal Investigation from the Livingston Barracks are currently conducting an investigation into the matter. As of now, the death has been ruled an accidental drowning.
