TV Director Used Spy Cam to Watch Teen Nanny in Bathroom

A TV director admitted he hid a camera in his bathroom to spy on his teen nanny and her friends in his Hudson Valley home.

On Tuesday in Westchester County Court, Daniel Switzen of Pleasantville was sentenced to five years sex offender probation and he will have to register as a sex offender. A sex offender registration hearing is scheduled for November.

If a sex offender is on probation other New York State laws may limit the offender from living within 1,000 feet of a school or other facility caring for children, according to the New York State sex offenders database.

In May, Switzen pleaded guilty to unlawful surveillance for spying on the family’s nanny in a bathroom.

Switzen confessed in November 2017, he placed a secret camera in a bathroom inside his Pleasantville home. The camera was hidden within a tissue box and was discovered by his home's teenage nanny.

Switzen admitted placing the camera in the bathroom to capture the 19-year-old and her friends on video. The camera was hidden in the bathroom so he could record young women dressing and undressing, police say.

Switzen worked as a tv director for CNBC, CBS reports.
