Traffic Expected During Long-term Road Project in Dutchess County
Officials are warning drivers in Dutchess County that a long-term roadwork project will likely cause traffic near a popular intersection.
The New York State Department of Transportation is starting roadwork on Route 376 at the intersection of Robinson Lane and Lake Walton Road.
The project will add turn lanes, new traffic lights, crosswalks and improve drainage, officials say.
Roadwork is expected to begin on Oct. 9 and last until August of 2018.
According to the Department of Transportation, traffic will shifted onto shoulders during various stages of the project. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times, with occasional lane closures as necessary.
“Although the project intends to keep two lanes moving through the area there will obviously be delays. If possible people should plan alternate routes,” East Fishkill Police wrote on Facebook. “We ask that everyone uses caution at these sites and help keep yourself other drivers and workers safe.”
