Texas Man Kidnapped Hudson Valley Woman in New York, Police Say
A Texas man is accused of kidnapping a Hudson Valley woman at gunpoint.

On Tuesday, the Ulster Police Department reported the arrest of a Texas man kidnapping, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and menacing.
On Monday around 3 p.m., the Ulster Police Department responded to a 911 call for an adult female taken at gunpoint from the Rodeway Inn on Forest Hill Drive in the Town of Ulster.

The investigation revealed that 41-year-old Christopher L. Reed of San Antonio, Texas displayed a weapon and demanded the female get into the vehicle with him, police say.

As a result, a county-wide alert was put out attempting to locate the suspect vehicle. A short time later, the vehicle in question, operated by Reed was located by the New York State Police on Route 28 in the Town of Kingston, officials say.

The unnamed woman was also located in the vehicle unharmed, police say. Reed was taken into custody and allegedly found with two illegally possessed handguns, one reported stolen out of the State of Texas.
Reed was charged with kidnapping, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property, all felonies and two misdemeanor counts for menacing
He was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail to reappear in the Town of Ulster Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The Ulster Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, Kingston Police Department, NYC Department of Environmental Protection Police and New York State Forest Rangers.
