A Wappinger man was arrested Monday after a thumb drive with over 100 images of child pornography was discovered on Old Hopewell Road.

New York State Police say the drive belongs to 38-year-old John A. Casali.

The drive was found along the side of the road by another Town of Wappinger resident in October 2015. The resident subsequently contacted authorities. The New York State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and troopers began investigating the origin of the drive, which contained photos of children engaged in sexual acts. Casali was later identified as the drive's owner, New York State Police said.

Casali was charged with felony possession of a sexual performance by a child. He was arraigned in the Village of Wappingers Falls Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is due to appear in court on Wednesday.
