Police: Wanted Dutchess County Man Found With Heroin, More
A Dutchess County man who was wanted in Orange County was allegedly found in possession of heroin, cocaine and more.
On Tuesday, New York State Police from Wappinger arrested 34-year-old Anthony J. Abbott of Poughkeepsie for criminal mischief, a felony, three-counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration, all misdemeanors.
Troopers were dispatched to the Extended Stay America Hotel on Merritt Boulevard in the Town of Fishkill for a report of a male wanted for a domestic violence incident that occurred in Orange County.
Abbot allegedly admitted to police that he was wanted for family offenses in Orange County and was in possession of drugs, but would not open the door.
Authorities eventually gained access to the room and Abbott was taken into custody after a brief struggle, police say.
Abbott is accused of being in possession of heroin, cocaine and crack-cocaine paraphernalia.
Abbott was arraigned before the Town of Fishkill Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
