
Police: Ulster County Man Cashed Homemade Checks
An Ulster County man is accused of cashing in at least three homemade checks.
According to the Saugerties Police Detective Division, 37-year-old Joshua A. Risley of Saugerties cashed fraudulent checks at the Saugerties Mobile Mart over a 10-day period in January.
Risley was making his own checks, forging bank information on the checks and then cashing them at the Saugerties Mobile, police say.
Following an investigation, Risley was arrested for three-counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, felonies, three-counts for issuing a bad check and grand larceny, misdemeanors.
Risley was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and remanded to Ulster County Jail without bail.
