A 911 call reporting an erratic driver resulted in a man being arrested in Ulster County with a BAC three times the legal limit. 

On Friday evening, Saugerties Police received a 911 call reporting an erratic driver. Police located the vehicle and conducted a vehicle and traffic stop after observing the vehicle stop in the middle of the road causing a traffic jam.

The driver of the vehicle, Arturo J. Candia, 32, of Saugerties, was arrested after officers determined he was under the influence of alcohol.

Candia was taken into custody and processed at police headquarters, where his BAC was .24%.

Candia was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanors), Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Parking on Pavement.

Candia was released to a sober third party, and is scheduled back in court at a later date to answer to his charges.
