A Columbia County man was arrested after he allegedly threatened officer with a large knife.

"Don't tase me Bro!" Not that I have any experience, but I'm fairly certain that if you threaten police officers with a knife, you're probably going to get tased.

Columbia County Sheriff's were dispatched on Sept. 23 for a report of a male subject throwing objects at passing cars. Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene and found the mane in a parking lot holding a large knife in his hand, according to a press release.

The man was told several times to drop the knife as he made aggressive movements toward law enforcement. Deputies were able to end the standoff using a non-lethal taser. The man has been identified as Aaron P. Siveraterry, 28, of Hudson. Siveraterry was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

Siveraterry was arrested on a warrant on Oct. 3 and charged with menacing a police officer, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth-degree. He was arraigned and sent to Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

He is due back in court on Oct. 11.
